The Public Pitch at DocsBarcelona Pro is a professional opportunity for documentary film projects in development, including feature-length films and nonfiction series. Up to 12 selected projects present their ideas to an international panel of editors, distributors, sales agents, and co-producers. Each presentation includes a pitch of approximately 15 minutes, followed by questions and the possibility of speed meetings with potential financiers.
The call is open to projects from any country, accepting international submissions. Eligible projects must be in development; completed short films or finished projects are not accepted. The focus is strictly on nonfiction documentary work.

The Rough Cut Pitch at DocsBarcelona Pro 2026 is intended for feature-length documentary projects in the editing phase, meaning films that are not yet fully completed. Its purpose is to give filmmakers the chance to present nearly finished works to distributors, programmers, and industry professionals in order to gain support, guidance, or potential distribution deals.
The call is open to projects from any country, with no national restrictions, and focuses exclusively on non-fiction documentaries. The activity takes place within DocsBarcelona Pro, scheduled from May 9 to 14, 2026. Submissions are accepted from December 9, 2025, until January 30, 2026, which is the final deadline to submit materials.
Participants are expected to provide a preliminary cut of the feature, allowing evaluators to assess the narrative and the project’s final vision, even if it is not fully edited. This is an exclusive opportunity to receive professional feedback and establish strategic connections within the international documentary industry.
