The Aguilar de Campoo Short Film Festival is consolidated as one of the most veteran and relevant film citations in our country in its genre. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts of Spain, includes it as one of the key festivals for the selection of short films that will compete in the Goya Awards. Throughout the last editions the festival has been making important decisions that commit it to the cinema of our country. In his thirteenth edition he published his manifesto where he exhibited his philosophy and commitment to film. He made the decision to pay for selection to the selected short films thus eliminating economic competition in order to encourage artistic creation and production. Its screening rooms are open to international cinema including all genres, fiction, documentary animation and experimental cinema. In 2016 the festival received recognition from the AIC (Short Film Industry Association). This certificate is an annual distinction to differentiate and reward festivals that perform an exemplary role in the dissemination, protection and professionalization of cinema and its industry, and especially of the short film. This is the first time this certification has been granted and is the result of more than a year of work tables and conversations with festivals, filmmakers and other professionals from across the country in order to develop a guide to good behaviors towards the short film and its creators. The basic objectives of this distinction are to educate new generations of filmmakers and protect model festivals, recognizing their dedication and rigor. We seek the encounter and exchange between professionals and the public as a form of cultural enrichment.

PRESENTATION
The Amics del Cinema de la Vall de Ribes Association presents the 13th edition of the Gollut Festival, an independent film festival held in Ribes de Freser, dedicated to showcasing cinema beyond mainstream circuits. The festival takes place at Cinema Catalunya, a historic venue that has been screening films continuously for over a century.
The Gollut Festival is committed to auteur cinema, socially engaged filmmaking, and innovative audiovisual narratives rooted in the Catalan Pyrenean region. It promotes inclusion, critical reflection, and the collective cinematic experience from a decentralized and community-oriented perspective.
The festival provides a platform for films that address social issues, diversity, and cultural rights, while supporting filmmakers who explore new cinematic languages with creative freedom and ethical and artistic integrity. Special attention is given to emerging filmmakers and independent voices often underrepresented in commercial distribution and traditional film narratives. This year, the festival strengthens its focus on experimental short films, highlighting bold, innovative works and new creative voices.
The festival also encourages artistic experimentation and audiovisual research, supporting works that challenge and expand the possibilities of cinematic language, both formally and conceptually.
Each edition is structured around a central theme aligned with the festival’s identity and its commitment to fostering critical engagement with contemporary realities. This year’s theme, Out of Focus, highlights stories and perspectives that are often overlooked or marginalized, offering new ways of seeing, understanding, and engaging with the world. By bringing these narratives into focus, the festival aims to create meaningful spaces for reflection, dialogue, and social awareness.
Several awards are presented in recognition of artistic excellence, creative risk-taking, and social relevance.

FARCUME 2026: The 16th Faro International Short Film Festival
After five years of unprecedented growth, FARO 1540 (Association for the Defense and Promotion of Environmental and Cultural Heritage of Faro) is proud to announce the 16th edition of FARCUME. The festival will return to the heart of Faro, Portugal, from October 16 to 18, 2026, solidifying its reputation as a truly international and cosmopolitan cultural landmark.
Our mission remains steadfast: to provide a launchpad for new talent and to bring high-quality works to the public that often lack the mainstream promotion they deserve. Within our signature relaxed and informal atmosphere, FARCUME honors the creativity and dedication of directors, actors, and technical teams who achieve cinematic excellence through modest means.
The 2026 Theme: Humor as a Way of Thinking the World
This year, FARCUME explores the concept of laughter as a sophisticated critical language. In a time of overlapping environmental, social, and political crises, humor serves as a bridge. It allows us to:
Deconstruct dominant narratives and social norms.
Bridge the gap between complex issues like sustainability and public understanding.
Dialogue through satire, irony, and the absurd to reveal the contradictions of our time.
More than just a momentary laugh, we are seeking films in Fiction, Documentary, and Animation that use humor as a device for reflection—works that make the world more legible and, ultimately, more human.
Commitment to Ethics and the Environment
As an Environmental NGO, FARO 1540 ensures that FARCUME is more than just a screen for films; it is a platform for values. The festival maintains a strict ethical stance, rejecting any content that encourages environmental disrespect, human rights inequality, or animal abuse.
Furthermore, we are implementing a specialized Environmental Management Plan for 2026 to optimize resources and minimize waste, ensuring the festival's footprint is as responsible as the stories we tell.
Join us in Faro to celebrate cinema that educates, provokes, and mobilizes—without ever losing its lightness.

BASIFF2026: GROWING TOGETHER WITH YOU
La Poesia che si vede is an international competition for poetry films based in Ancona, Italy. It is organized by Associazione Nie Wiem and it’s the product of the collaboration between two important festivals: La Punta della Lingua International Poetry Festival and Dorico International Film Fest (formerly known as Corto Dorico Film Fest).
La Poesia che si vede aims to explore the world of international poetry film and its authors. The underlying mission of the competition rests in the challenge of researching, promoting and supporting new artistic gazes, poetics, and visions. From kinetic text to sound text, from visual text to cine-poetry, up to the filmed performance, poetry film for La Poesia che si vede is total poetry, without discrimination of genre or format.
The Franco Scataglini Prize, dedicated to the poet who, in the last century, was able to project Ancona into the centre of the world of Italian poetry for his formal and visionary ability (not separated from his attention to painting), will be awarded by a jury of film and poetry experts.
This is where we start, the dark side of movies, inspired by the legendary Pink Floyd’s album.
We start with the dark side, not visible to the naked eye, mysterious, obscure - a side with blurred boundaries and infinite nuances, where nothing is certain, precise, predetermined. Not visible rather than invisible, lying under the surface, or elsewhere, it’s something that can’t be simplified as it continuously alludes to deeper meanings. It’s the side of cinema that is never accommodating and always inquiring, making us question the meaning of what we see, listen, perceive.
If you look closely, you’ll see that there’s a dark side to everything. You find it in Brothers Grimm’s folk tales, in Fritz Lang’s fantastic and apocalyptic visions, in Stephen King’s archetypes of narrative fiction, in Stanley Kubrick’s unforgettable imagery, in Homer’s poems as in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings epic. From the Holy Scriptures to Game of Thrones, the dark side is the driving force behind every art form and Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest is its cinematographic icon.
