El Fondo Bertha del IDFA (IDFA Bertha Fund) es un programa de financiamiento dedicado a apoyar documentales con impacto social y cultural, especialmente de países en desarrollo y en transición. Su objetivo es facilitar la producción, desarrollo y postproducción de proyectos documentales que promuevan el cambio social y la diversidad de voces en el cine documental.
El fondo ofrece varias modalidades de subvención, que incluyen ayuda para desarrollo de proyecto, producción y postproducción. Los solicitantes deben demostrar que su trabajo aborda temas relevantes para sus comunidades y que tienen el potencial de generar un impacto social positivo. El fondo prioriza proyectos de cineastas de países del Sur Global y busca apoyar historias que difícilmente llegarían a la audiencia global sin este respaldo.
Las convocatorias suelen abrirse dos veces al año, generalmente en primavera y verano, y es necesario enviar una propuesta completa con detalles del proyecto, plan de financiación, muestras audiovisuales y una carta de motivación.

Fondo Bertha del IDFA
The Lau Haizetara Documentary Coproduction Forum 2025 will take place from September 22 to 24 during the 73rd San Sebastián Film Festival. It provides a platform for independent producers to present documentary projects seeking European coproduction and funding. The event includes workshops on September 22-23 for selected participants to improve their project pitches, followed by public pitching on September 24 where projects compete for prizes, including a €5,000 award. There are also individual meetings with potential financiers and industry experts. Registration is open until June 27, 2025, with a fee of €250 (+ VAT), reduced to €150 (+ VAT) for EPE-IBAIA members. Applications must be submitted in English and Spanish. Additional prizes include consultancy and selection opportunities at major documentary festivals. The forum is organized by EPE-IBAIA in collaboration with the San Sebastián Festival.

SSIFF - Lau Haizetara
WIP Latam 2025 is a San Sebastián Festival call for Latin American feature films in post-production (fiction or documentary, minimum 60 minutes). It aims to support projects in their final stages by boosting technical completion and international exposure before industry professionals.
Registration is free and open from June 2 to July 2, 2025. Applicants must submit a rough cut (with Spanish or English subtitles if needed) and complete an online form. Up to six films will be selected and screened from September 22 to 24, 2025 as part of the festival.
Selected projects compete for the WIP Latam Industry Award, which includes post-production services and distribution in Spain, and the EGEDA Platino Industria Award worth €30,000. They also gain international visibility and access to potential distribution, sales, and festival partners.

SSIFF - Wip Latam
WIP Europa 2025 is a section of the San Sebastián Film Festival dedicated to European feature films in post-production. Its goal is to support projects with international potential, particularly first or second features and films in non-dominant languages. Up to six films will be selected and presented between September 23–25 to industry professionals such as distributors, sales agents, programmers, and post-production companies.
The call for entries is open until July 3, 2025. Eligible films must be at least 60 minutes long, produced mainly in Europe, not available on public VOD platforms, and already have a first cut.
Selected projects will compete for two awards: the WIP Europa Industry Award, which includes full post-production services and distribution in Spain, and the WIP Europa Award, which grants €10,000 to the majority producer. Selected films must commit to including festival logos and cannot withdraw once confirmed.

SSIFF - Wip Europe
La Palma Rueda 2025, part of the Festivalito La Palma, invites filmmakers from all over the world to create, shoot, and edit a short film within one week, based on a theme revealed at the opening event. The contest takes place June 7–15, 2025, in various towns on the island of La Palma, Spain. There are two categories: Andrómeda (professionals) and Lyra (beginners), with registration open until May 31. Films must be 1–4 minutes long, shot at least 50% on location in La Palma, and follow the Festivalito’s sustainability guidelines. The competition encourages community-building and cinema as a tool for social change. Awards will recognize best film, acting, cinematography, sustainability, gender equality, and other artistic and technical merits.
